Dozens of drivers lined up for hours Monday morning to take advantage of the city’s hottest deal on gasoline.
An online flight booking company sponsored a gas station at 759 Eastern Ave., near Leslie Street, that is offering gas at 50 cents per litre Monday morning.
A litre of petrol is going for 135.6 cents a litre at other stations.
The sale only lasts between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., or until 10,000 litres of fuel has been sold —whichever comes first. The limit is 50 litres per vehicle and jerrycans aren’t permitted.
Several drivers were lined up by 6 a.m.
“I guess you have to calculate how much you’re going to save and whether that is worth your time,” 680News senior business editor Mike Eppel said.
“What are you going to save? $20, $25 per fill-up?”
