REJOIN, Hanover — Blood-curdling screams echoed throughout this rustic community Wednesday night as two gunmen went on a rampage, killing four male residents, including a father and son.

Police named those killed as 64-year-old caddy Lenford Frazer; his son, 47-year-old hotel

worker Delroy Frazer; 64-year-old farmer Kenneth Bernard; and David Harding, 41.

The caddy, his son and Bernard were killed while they were playing dominoes in a popular grocery shop where residents customarily congregate and play table games nightly.

Police say that Wednesday night, about 9:15, two strangers appeared in the popular community grocery shop where the domino game was in progress.

One of the unknown men ordered a cigarette from the shopkeeper for which he tendered a $50 note. But his action aroused the suspicion of the proprietor when, after he was handed his $15 change, both men lingered in the shop.

The shopkeeper and another man in the shop ran for cover after one of the strangers pulled a handgun from his waist and opened fire on the three domino players.

Harding was reportedly killed a short distance away when he unwittingly encountered the killers as they ran from the scene.

Ironically, none of the three men who died

in the shop had previously gone there to

play dominoes.

Residents said the Frazers were returning from a prayer meeting held at their church in the community when they spontaneously decided to spend some time playing dominoes.

Meanwhile, according to Bernard's son, Jeff, Wednesday night was the first in a long while that his father stopped at the shop to play the popular game.

"A long time him don't play domino, but maybe him just feel like playing last (Wednesday) night," the distraught son remarked.

One man who was spotted in the community yesterday said despite Wednesday night's brutal attack he was not afraid.

"I am not going to allow none of them to run us from the community where we live. Where must we run to?" he asked.

Yesterday, an overpowering scent of kerosene oil permeated the air in the shop. The Jamaica Observer was told that the fuel leaked after a bullet ripped through a five gallon plastic container in which it was stored.

Yesterday, detectives from the Major Investigation Task Force in Kingston, Area One Headquarters in Montego Bay, and surrounding parishes, converged in Hanover where they assisted their colleagues with investigating the deadly shooting.

"A similar incident took place in December 2010 at the same location and detectives are now sifting through those files and evidence gathered from the scene to come up with

a possible motive for the killings," the

police said.

The police are appealing to the public

to contact the Hanover Criminal Investigation Branch at 956-2304, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station with

any information that can assist with

their investigation.
