Plane missing from Buttonville airport

Police are searching for a missing plane that failed to arrive at Buttonville Airport on Monday evening.
A 61-year old man flew the four-seat airplane out of St. Mathieu De Beloeil, Quebec, around 6:40 p.m. but did not make it to Markham the same evening.
Northumberland OPP sent out search crews Tuesday morning in the area of County Rd. 25 and County Rd. 35, south of Hastings.
"It's a very hard area to search," Sgt. Dale Gear told Northumberland News, adding that is very swampy, hilly and thick with a lot of trees.
Gear said foggy weather also makes the search difficult.
Police are asking the public's help narrow their search. Anyone who heard a low-flying airplane Monday evening is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
