Blind man accused of killing girlfriend

A blind man is in jail after being accused of murdering his girl fiend.

When he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday Stephen Taylor, had to led from the prisoner's dock.

Police say Taylor's girlfriend turned up at a Corporate Area school where he was employed as a caretaker and accused him of cheating on her. She allegedly pulled out a knife and pressed the blade against his side.

Police say Taylor managed to disarm the woman and stabbed her before using a piece of iron to bash her head in.

It is alleged that Taylor then dumped her body in a gully on Grove Road in Kingston.

The court heard that he confessed his crime to a close friend who influenced him to turn himself in.

The case will be mentioned again on August 24 after the accused undergoes psychological evaluation.
