Cops investigate if ... CHILD DUMPED IN PIT TOILET

The Linstead police are seeking a woman who allegedly left her baby in a pit toilet on Tuesday.The baby boy was saved by a relative who went to use the bathroom and heard the cries.

According to reports, the incident which took place at Victoria in Linstead, St Catherine, has had comm-unity members fuming as the woman has vanished.

The motive for her actions are unknown and family members are said to be unhappy and perturbed about the cruel and senseless act.
The woman, whose identity has been withheld, is now facing multiple charges including child abandonment.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the baby, after being retrieved from the toilet, was hastily washed off by family members who were on-hand, and then taken to the Spanish Town Hospital for further treatment and medical attention.
Checks made by our news team to ascertain the infant's condition since the incident proved unsuccessful.
In the meantime, a source at the Linstead CIB confirmed the reports and maintained that the mother of the child was being sought. A stern warning was also thrown out for her to turn herself in to the police.
