George Zimmerman was released from a Florida jail on Friday after he posted bond.
Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge for shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on February 26. Martin was returning from a convenience store and was unarmed. Zimmerman told police he shot the teen in self-defense.
Zimmerman had been in jail since June 1. Judge Kenneth Lester revoked Zimmerman's initial bond because he had deceived the court about his family’s financial status and the fact that he had two passports.
On Thursday, Lester set Zimmerman’s bond at $1 million with new restrictions. Since then, Zimmerman’s defense fund website has gotten $20,000 in donations.

In Session spoke to Engel Bail Bonds, a bond company in Seminole County, Florida. They tell us people must post a standard ten percent in Florida, so for a million-dollar bond, Zimmerman had to pay a bonding company $100,000. This amount is non-refundable.
Because of the large amount, if Zimmerman used a bond company, he had to also provide the signature for a guarantor and some collateral such as property.
The statement on the defense fund website also says that Zimmerman will be taken to a safe place now that he is out of jail.
“As the terms of Mr. Zimmerman’s bond state that he must remain within Seminole County, Mr. Zimmerman’s security team has established a safe house where he can stay until a more permanent secure location can be established.”
Zimmerman's attorney Don West told HLN that the defense team may ask for permission to allow Zimmerman to leave the county.
"We may re-evaluate that in a few days and as well, we may ask the judge to expand the boundaries right now he is confined with in Seminole County," West said.
In addition to not being allowed to leave the county, Zimmerman has other bond restrictions. He must report to authorities every two days. He cannot have a bank account or go near an airport. He is also not allowed to possess a passport. Like before, Zimmerman must abide by a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the curfew will be monitored electronically.
The statement on the website also says that in the two months prior to getting the new bond, Zimmerman raised another $55,000.
