Three people shot in Scarborough

Three men are in hospital, one with serious injuries, after a shooting in Scarborough on Sunday night.
The incident happened on Lawrence Ave. E., near Scarborough Golf Club Rd. at around 9:30 p.m.
Police say the three victims have non-life-threatening injuries. Two of them have flesh wounds to their legs, while the third victim has serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the back.
All three victims have since been released from hospital.
After the third victim was shot, he stumbled into a Domino’s Pizza, where one of the employees called police.
Two men were seen running west on Lawrence Ave.
Investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the area and interviewing witnesses.



Man wounded after shots fired in Scarborough

One man was wounded after more than 20 shots were fired last night in Scarborough.
Police said a man on foot opened fire into a car at a gas station in the Markham Road and Ellesmere Road area at around 11:30 p.m.
One person in the car suffered two gunshot wounds, and is now in stable condition in hospital.
Police are still searching for a suspect.


 

 

Male hospitalized after being shot in leg

One male is in hospital and a second male is in custody after a shooting near Finch Avenue West and Albion Road on Monday night.
Toronto police said a male victim, believed to be in his late teens, was shot in the leg on Orpington Crescent.
The victim was transported to hospital, where he was receiving treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital.
Police said a male was arrested.
Charges haven't been laid.



Man not co-operating after being shot in leg

An 18-year-old man is recovering after he was shot in the leg in Etobicoke late Wednesday night.
Toronto police said the shooting occurred on Windsor Road, near Dixon Road and Kipling Avenue, at about 11 p.m.
Police believe only one shot was fired at the victim, who was transported to a local hospital and treated for the gunshot wound.
The bullet went through the victim's leg.
After the shot was fired, the suspects fled in a black Nissan Maxima, police said. No one has been arrested.
Investigators are trying to figure out why the victim was shot and are looking into the possibility that he was targeted.
Their investigation is being hampered a bit, however, because the victim isn't co-operating with officers, police said.




           Man shot in head in North Toronto

A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head near Don Mills Road and Dennis Drive this evening.
The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m.
Police have confirmed that the man was shot outside an apartment building and say they do not have any suspects at this point. 




Police identify Brampton shooting victim

Peel Regional Police say a 41-year-old Brampton man is the victim of the region's latest homicide.
Police said Huy Duc (Andy) Nguyen was fatally shot on North Service Road on Sunday at about 6:25 p.m.
Nguyen was rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries, police said.
No one has been arrested and no suspect information has been released.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact investigators.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Peel police 




Man struck by bus in Scarborough

One man has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a bus in Scarborough Sunday morning.
Police said the man was struck by the bus on Brimley Road just south of McNicoll Avenue around 10 a.m.
EMS said the man is conscious, but suffered serious head injuries.
Traffic services are investigating. 


Driver injured when car, transit bus collide

Toronto police are investigating another crash involving a TTC bus.
One person was taken to hospital after a vehicle rear-ended a transit bus at Lawrence Avenue and Birchmount Road on Thursday at 10:45 p.m.
The car's driver was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury to his head, Toronto police said.
The collision comes just days after a 43-year-old woman was killed in a crash involving a TTC bus and a flatbed crane truck.
Jadranka Petrova died when the transit bus rear-ended the truck on Lawrence Avenue East near Don Mills Road.
The TTC has suspended the 52-year-old male driver from his duties pending the police investigation. No charges have been laid.
After the crash, investigators found a small amount of marijuana in the driver's possession, but there's no indication the driver was impaired, police said.
Police are meeting with a Crown attorney next week to determine whether charges are warranted.



Man stabbed with beer bottle in stable condition

TORONTO — A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the chest with a broken beer bottle in Toronto early Saturday morning.
Police say the victim suffered a collapsed lung after being attacked in the city's entertainment district.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. in the Adelaide and Peter streets area.
The victim is in stable condition in hospital and police say he is expected to make a complete recovery.
Four people have been arrested but police say no charges have been laid.

A 20-year-old Toronto woman is in hospital with serious head injuries after a car surfing accident in Brossard, on Montreal's South Shore.
Longueuil police say several people were riding on the car's rear bumper early Sunday when the woman fell off.
Police arrested the victim's sister, a 17-year-old woman who was driving the car at the time.
"She could be charged with dangerous driving and criminal negligence causing bodily harm," said Longueuil Const. GaƩtan Durocher. "She will be met by our major crimes unit investigators."
Drugs and alcohol were not involved.
Both women live in Toronto.
