A 19-year-old robbery suspect is facing charges after a brief standoff at a Niagara Falls motel early Thursday morning.
Niagara Falls Regional Police said a male robbed Lundy's Variety, a convenience store, at knifepoint and then fled into a suite at the Niagara Inn Motel on Lundy's Lane.
Members of the emergency task unit were called in to deal with the matter.
Officers surrounded the hotel, closed a stretch of Lundy's Lane and made contact with the suspect. After some brief negotiations, the male surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
Police said Josiah Davis is charged with robbery.
Despite the arrest, police are appealing for information about the incident
