TORONTO - Toronto police are investigating a bizarre multi-vehicle collision in which the driver of one vehicle apparently tried to set herself on fire.
Police say the woman ran away from the scene of the crash in the Bayview and Sheppard area in north Toronto Wednesday evening and into a nearby house.
Staff Sgt. Barredo says it appears she tried to set herself on fire using gas burners on the stove, then tried to set her hair on fire with a lighter outside the house.<
The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries while a 50-year-old male driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.<
The other three drivers were not injured.
