Car crashes into row of Eglinton Avenue stores

Several shopkeepers are tallying the damage after a car went off the road and slammed into a row of stores early Monday morning.
Toronto police said the Volkswagen car veered off Eglinton Avenue West and crashed into the stores, near Caledonia Road, shortly before 1:30 a.m.
The driver ran from the scene.
Storefronts sustained significant damage, and the collision sent shattered pieces of glass flying all over the sidewalk and street.
No injuries have been reported.
A damage estimate hasn't been released.
