Cordell Cartledge, 18, is sought on a warrant for a last July shooting on Bishop Tutu Blvd., near Bathurst St. and Lake Shore Blvd.
TORONTO - Toronto Police say a suspected street gang member wanted in connection with a shooting over a west-end parking spot is armed, dangerous and hiding in the city.
Cordell Cartledge, 18, is sought on a warrant for a last July shooting on Bishop Tutu Blvd., near Bathurst St. and Lake Shore Blvd.
Detectives said court permission to publish a photograph of the suspect expires on Tuesday.
Det. Izzy Bernardo, of 14 Division, said the suspect, who is a member of the Bishop Money street gang, was seen in the Bishop Tutu area last month.
“This suspect is very dangerous and should not be approached,” Bernardo said on Monday. “We know he still frequents the area.” He said the suspect is rumoured to be hiding with friends in Belleville.
Bernardo alleged the gunplay occurred after a man tried to remove pylons placed on the roadside to prevent a parking spot from being taken by motorists.
Police alleged a fight ensued as one man pulled out a handgun and shot the victim, who was grazed by a bullet.
Thomas Alcott, 21, has been arrested and charged, but police are still looking for Cartledge.
