Eminem Says Prescription Drugs Wiped His Memory
"I dont know if youve ever taken Ambien, but its kind of a memory-eraser. That s**t wiped out five years of my life," he tells Rolling Stone.Oct 18, 2011
Eminem suffered massive memory loss because of his five-year battle with prescription drugs and still cant recall many key events from his career.
The rapper struggled with a raging addiction to pills including sedative Ambien, and the hip-hop star blames the drug for erasing years of his life.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine,"I try to stay recording, because if I dont, I get rusty. Im very paranoid about writers block - I had it for four years, and it drove me f***ing crazy. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldnt think of s**t.
"The pills had a lot to do with it. Just wiping out brain cells. I dont know if it sounds like Im making excuses, but the absolute truth is a lot of my memory is gone. I dont know if youve ever taken Ambien, but its kind of a memory-eraser. That s**t wiped out five years of my life.
"People will tell me stories, and its like, I did that? I saw myself doing this thing on BET recently, and I was like, When was that? "
