Man accused of murder escapes Brandon jail

Police are looking for a man charged with second-degree murder who escaped from a Brandon, Man., jail.
Robert Patrick Ray Morand, 22, is described as being approximately 188 cm (six feet two inches), 71 kilograms (157 pounds) with short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing grey correctional pants and a T-shirt and was believed to be barefoot when he escaped.
Morand was being held in remand awaiting a court appearance on the charge of second-degree murder.
Two inmates escaped the Brandon Correctional Centre Friday at around 9:45 p.m. from a fenced exercise area outside.
Police subsequently caught and arrested one man at 12:30 a.m Saturday in the 1600 block of Stickney Avenue but are still looking for Morand.
Morand was arrested after he turned himself in at a police station in 2010 following the shooting death of 23-year-old Brent Michael David Bialkoski in Neepawa.
Anyone with information on Morand is being asked to contact the Brandon Police Service.
