Occupy protesters, unions to rally on Bay Street

Occupy Toronto protesters march to city hall Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011.
Members of several unions and the Occupy Toronto demonstration are holding a rally in the city's financial district Thursday to demand "good jobs" and social equality.
Depending on the size of the crowd, motorists may encounter some disruptions during the protest, which is scheduled to begin outside at Queen's Quay and Bay Street at 1 p.m.
From there, participants will walk to the corner of King and Bay streets to protest "corporate greed and government collusion that threaten good jobs and retirement security," according to a news release issued by the Ontario Federation of Labour.
The group is taking that message to Bay Street, but it's not known how long their protest will last.
OFL president Sid Ryan is expected to speak to the crowd, which will include Occupy Toronto protesters and members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and United Steelworkers.
The OFL is using the rally as a platform to trash the Conservative government over its use or threat of using back-to-work legislation to end or prevent strikes by unionized workers.
CUPW has launched a constitutional challenge of the feds' use of back-to-work legislation.
