Man charged after shots fired, guns seized
A 20-year-old man is facing more than a dozen charges after Toronto police officers responded to a shooting and seized two loaded handguns Tuesday night.
Officers made the arrest after they were called to the area of Mount Olive Drive and Silverstone Drive for a report of gunshots outside an apartment building at about 9:30 p.m.
Police arrested a man who tried to run away from them at the scene. He was in possession of two loaded Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handguns, police said.
Several bullet casings were found on the ground at the scene.
No injuries were reported, but police believe there were two intended victims.
Police said Nadir Morant is charged with 16 offences, including causing a disturbance by discharging a firearm, discharging a firearm endangering life and pointing a firearm.
