OTTAWA - Two men in their 30s are dead following a shooting inside an east Ottawa mall Wednesday night.
Details were sketchy Wednesday night but it's believed the shooting took place just prior to 8:30 p.m. EDT, possibly inside a tanning salon.
Gloucester Centre is a mid-sized shopping mall located in east Ottawa.
Police were on the scene shortly after the shooting but remained tight-lipped about what happened.
Insp. Mike Maloney talked to reporters at the scene and said little except that there had been no arrests.
He said more information would be released Thursday morning.
But sources told QMI Agency the victims are 32 and 35 years old.
Unconfirmed reports are that at least one of the men was shot in the head and the other shot in the mouth.
It's believed the shooting took place inside the Carribbean Exposure tanning salon, located in the mall.
Tracy Tregbal was shopping at Zellers when she heard about five loud bangs.
"I just thought a sign fell down, but after a while I clued in that it was gunshots," she said. "I just saw the security guards run out -- I heard someone got shot in the head.
"I did see them doing CPR afterward, but I couldn't watch."
She said it happened at the tanning salon which is just one store over from the Zellers.
Paramedic officials confirm the two victims were taken to hospital with no vital signs and later died.
The mall was surrounded by police for several hours as investigators looked for evidence.
Nervous shoppers and mall employees scurried to the scene to see what had happened but most declined comment.
Access to the mall was restricted by emergency personnel while they investigated.
