Witness protection fail

A man gunned down near his home in a high-end residential neighbourhood north of Toronto in July was in the witness protection program.
Kosto Barjaktarovic was a Vancouver criminal who admitted his role in two gangland slayings in B.C.
QMI Agency's Bryan Chiu discusses the police investigation into the death of Barjaktarovic who was going by the name Alexander Kucovic.
Police found Kucovic, 37, lying in the middle of the street this past summer.

Suffering from several gunshot wounds, Kucovic died soon after arriving at hospital, Det.-Sgt. Larry Wilson said.
From the way the victim was "approached outside his residence," near million-dollar homes on a well-lit street, the father of one was deliberately "targeted," Wilson said.
He said Kucovic worked on watches at a jewellery business, but there is no indication he carried or transported substantial valuables.
He was known to police, but only for previous domestic-related complaints.
Wilson said neighbours in the area called 911 and reported several shots.
There was little traffic at the time, he said
