YRT buses involved in head-on crash

Hundreds of York Region Transit (YRT) buses are parked due to the strike, but at least two will also be off the road for repairs after a crash on Monday.

The driver of a YRT bus was charged with careless driving after he hit a VIVA bus at Keele Street and Highway 7 around 1 a.m.

The YRT driver was heading east on Highway 7 when he allegedly went through the intersection and hit a westbound bus attempting to turn south on Keele.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and police said no passengers were hurt.
