2 teens shot near North York school

Police investigate a double drive-by shooting on Grandravine Drive on Nov. 3, 2011

 

Two teens were taken to hospital after they were shot outside a North York school Thursday morning.

Paramedics took a teenage girl to the Hospital for Sick Children and a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to Sunnybrook hospital. He was apparently in critical condition.

The shootings happened just before 10 a.m. outside Oakdale Park Middle School on Grandravine Drive, near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

A local resident, who lives near the school, told CityNews she heard several shots.

Oakdale was in lockdown for about an hour and nearby Yorkwoods Public School was in hold-and-secure mode. Both schools are back to normal.

Police have set up a command post in the area and are looking for a Toyota seen fleeing the area.
