Man poses as undercover cop probing homicide

Toronto police are trying to identify a man who knocked on someone's door and claimed to be an undercover officer investigating a homicide.
Police said the imposter knew personal information about the man who answered the door of a home near Kennedy Road and Lawrence Avenue East, and obtained more information about man and his family during questioning.
The incident occurred Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
Police haven't revealed which homicide case the suspicious incident is related to.
The male suspect is white, 32 to 36 years old, and six-foot-one or six-foot-two with a medium build, straight dark-blond hair and brown eyes.
He was clean shaven and was last seen wearing a navy blue suit jacket, black sweater, black pants and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 416-808-4100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.
In response to the incident, police are reminding people any plainclothes police officer is required to identify himself or herself with a police-issued badge and matching warrant card.
