Toronto police are investigating the discovery of a body in a sport utility vehicle parked in a residential neighbourhood near College and Duffering streets.
In what's being classified as a suspicious death, the body was found in the back of the vehicle, parked on Dewson Street near Rusholme Road, shortly after 8 a.m.
A person who lives in the area contacted police, said spokeswoman Const. Wendy Drummond.
Police haven't released any information about the person who was found dead, but the circumstances of the death are being investigated by homicide detectives.
Despite the involvement of the homicide squad, the death hasn't been deemed a homicide.
Police have taped off a section of Dewson Street, where officers are investigating. As of 11 a.m., the sport utility vehicle is still parked at the scene with the body inside.
When a coroner visited the scene, police opened the vehicle's rear hatch door to show the body.
