Toronto police said a man was stabbed in the lower abdomen at an apartment block in the first 100 block of Bay Mills Boulevard at about 3:30 a.m.
Despite his injuries, the victim made the 911 call to request emergency personnel. There was some confusion about which apartment suite the victim was in, so it took some time to locate him, police said.
Once police located the man, paramedics rushed him to Sunnybrook Hospital.
Officers arrested a suspect, and it's believed the victim knows the person who stabbed him.
Police said a 54-year-old man is facing a charge of aggravated assault.
