TTC buses get too close for comfort

Two TTC buses block both lanes of Guildwood Parkway at the stone gates of Guildwood, just south of Kingston Rd., after they collided at about 4.30 p.m. Monday.
Both lanes of Guildwood Parkway, just inside the well-known stone gates that mark the entrance to Guildwood, at Kingston Rd., were completely blocked for about 30 minutes after the 4.30 p.m. collision.
A passenger on one of the buses said a bus had just made a right turn from Kingston Rd. when it stopped in the curb lane to let off riders, just inside the Guildwood gates.
While the first bus was stopped, a second bus made the same right turn and swung into the inner lane on Guildwood Parkway to detour around it, but sideswiped the bus, said the passenger.
Rush hour traffic couldn’t turn south from Kingston Rd. onto Guildwood Parkway for about half an hour, until TTC officials arrived to sort out the mess.
No riders were injured, but many ended up walking away or waiting for other buses to arrive.
