Man stabbed near Victoria Park subway station

A man is in hospital after he was stabbed at a home in Toronto's east end near the Victoria Park subway station, police say.
The victim, who was injured in the back and chest, was taken to the trauma centre at St. Michael’s Hospital on Thursday afternoon. His condition has been downgraded to serious from life threatening.
Police had earlier said that he was stabbed at the subway station, but clarified later he was stabbed at a home on Teesdale Place, and that he made his way to the station where paramedics found him.
The man’s name and age have not been disclosed.
No further details were immediately available about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
The TTC said trains at Pape station heading eastbound were delayed briefly before service resumed.
