SIU called in after man shot in Richmond Hill

A police cruiser is seen at the scene of a Saturday morning shooting in Richmond Hill.

An unidentified man has been rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries after a gun was discharged in a Richmond Hill park.
Police were called to Lennox park near Bayview Avenue and Major MacKenzie Drive around 6:30 a.m.
According to Sgt. Mike Good of York Regional Police, the male was shot after officers had already arrived.
The Special Investigations Unit has been called in.
The SIU investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
