A former Canadian journalist is accused of opening fire in a Philippine courtroom Tuesday, killing a doctor and a lawyer, and wounding a third person.
The Cebu City courthouse bloodbath took place where, according to reports, Canadian John Pope was appearing on charges of mischief and firearms possession, and opened fire with a 38-calibre weapon on the third floor.
Dr. Rene Rafols and his lawyer, Julian Atias, were identified by CBNnews.com as the victims.
Rafols was the complainant is the case against Pope.
It's been reported that Pope was also shot and possibly dead. Conflicting reports have him turning the gun on himself or that police gunned him down after he refused to drop his firearm.
It was also reported that Pope, who allegedly had lived in the Philippines for 15 years, was the subject of a deportation order that had not been executed.
