Court records show Ana Bailao had 'bloodshot' eyes, slurred speech at arrest

When Toronto Police pulled over Councillor Ana Bailao last October, they noticed her eyes were "glassy and bloodshot," according to court records obtained by the Toronto Sun.
Her speech was slurred.
The Davenport (Ward 18) councillor ignored loud police horns and flashing emergency lights for several blocks as she drove drunk in October after attending the Mayor's Ball for the Arts and -- later -- the Thompson Hotel, said Crown attorney Adrienne Samberg in reading an agreed statement of facts Monday.
While few details emerged Monday of Bailao's guilty plea at Old City Hall, the Toronto Sun obtained access to the court proceedings in order to provide an exclusive account of what happened.
