Toronto police officer suffers leg injury on the job

A Toronto police officer is recovering after he was injured on the job in Scarborough on Monday morning.
It is believed the officer suffered a leg injury during a foot pursuit near Ellesmere Road and Scarborough Golf Club Road at about 3:30 a.m.
The officer reportedly suffered a broken ankle.
It is believed the person who police were pursuing managed to escape.
Officers were spotted recovering a firearm at the scene.
