2 people injured in Rexdale shooting

It was a bloody night on Toronto’s streets Wednesday, with two people taken to hospital after a shooting in Rexdale.

Violence erupted at a townhouse complex on John Garland Boulevard, in the Finch Avenue and Martin Grove Road area, around 9:30 p.m.

Police tell CityNews the victims were inside a stairwell when they were shot at, through the glass.

The victims tried to flee to nearby Jamestown Crescent, where they were picked up by EMS and police.

The two victims are both males in their late teens or early 20s. One has been rushed to hospital in serious condition after suffering at least four gunshot wounds.

The second victim was shot once in the hand. He is reportedly in stable condition.

Police are examining surveillance video from a nearby building, but there's no word on suspects at this time.
