Highway 50 closed after four-vehicle crash



Emergency crews rush to free passengers trapped in a car on Highway 50 on April 11, 2012.
A number of people were trapped and serious injuries were reported after four vehicles collided on a Brampton highway.
Emergency crews and an air ambulance rushed to the scene on Highway 50 at Langstaff Road to treat the victims.
One 28-year-old man suffered a serious leg injury, according to James MacDonald, spokesperson for ORNGE air amublance service. At one point it was reported that at least two people were trapped in a vehicle and up to five people needed medical treatment.
Highway 50 is closed between Zenway Boulevard and Rutherford Road as police investigate the circumstances around the crash. It is not expected to reopen until 8:30 p.m.
