Police say East Mall robbery suspect mistakenly shot himself

TORONTO — Two men are facing charges in a shooting that police say occurred during an iPhone robbery in west-end Toronto.
Police say they responded to a call Wednesday afternoon for a shooting in the area of Burnhamthorpe Road and The East Mall.
Police say two men met the victim to buy his iPhone 4 and one of them drew a gun and pointed it at the victim's head.
Investigators say the two men stole the victim's phone but one of them accidentally shot himself as they fled the scene.
Abdikani Warsame, 19, of Toronto, faces eight charges including robbery while armed with a firearm, pointing a firearm and discharging a firearm endangering life.
Hassan Mohamed, 19, also of Toronto, is charged with robbery.
