LONDON, Ont. — The trial of a man accused of killing Victoria Stafford is set to hear today about comments he made to friends in the days after the eight-year-old's disappearance.
The Crown alleges Michael Rafferty, 31, abducted, sexually assaulted and killed Tori -- charges which he has denied.
Terri-Lynne McClintic, 21, just one of the women the court has heard Rafferty was dating in the spring of 2009, has already pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the girl's death.
She has implicated Rafferty.
His trial heard Thursday that after Tori's disappearance on April 8, 2009, Rafferty began dating new women, but also obsessively read news stories about Tori.
One of the women said Rafferty was constantly checking newspaper and TV reports about Tori's disappearance and claimed to have "inside information" on the case, including details about her mother.
The Crown says the next section of evidence will focus on remarks Rafferty made after Tori went missing.
