Man charged after gunshots fired at lake island

Durham Region police responded to a man shooting a rifle from the shoreline of Lake Scugog toward Washburn Island early Sunday morning.
A police helicopter found the suspect at a residence on Morris Lane.
The accused was arrested by officers on the ground who say he got into a vehicle and started to drive away.
Nicholas Huxhold, 33, faces weapons charges and one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
