Bank offers $10K reward for capture of Ray-Ban bandit

He is called the Ray-Ban bandit because he pulls off bank heists wearing what looks to be the popular brand-name sunglasses. And he’s one of the most notorious robbers that the GTA has seen in years, pulling off 16 heists since 2009.
“We don’t usually get that many. At one point in time, we did,” Staff Insp. Mike Earl said, adding that improved security and surveillance have brought about a reduction in serial bank robberies and bank holdups in general.
This past August, he was particularly busy, pulling seven bank jobs. In all, he has shown no pattern, striking in nine police divisions.
The urgency of identifying him was brought home Thursday when the Canadian Bankers Association offered a $10,000 reward to solve the cases.
The serial robber struck first at a CIBC branch on University Avenue on Aug. 29, 2009, and surveillance cameras caught him in a hoodie but without glasses, making his face easily recognizable.
The suspect is described as white, 23 to 33 years old and five-foot-six to five-foot-nine, with a medium build and an olive complexion. He always wears a head covering and a long-sleeved shirt, perhaps covering up a scar or tattoos. He has protruding eye teeth as well.
