They don’t hit the tracks for more than a year, but TTC customers can get a taste of the new streetcars starting this weekend.

The commission will be showing off a mock-up of the new light rail vehicle at its Hillcrest facility at 1138 Bathurst St., just north of Dupont, starting Saturday.

They will be on display through Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Bombardier is building 204 new vehicles that are slated to rumble along the streets in 2013 to replace the aging fleet.

Aside from the snazzy European-style design, regular riders will be pleased to know the new vehicles will be air-conditioned, have more seating capacity, larger windows and room to accommodate bikes.

The new streetcars also have a lower floor, meaning it will be much easier for people with strollers and those in wheelchairs to get on board.
