Pair charged after disrupting Toronto Remembrance Day ceremony

TORONTO - A Mountie in red serge sprang into action at Toronto's Remembrance Day ceremony today, helping to apprehend a man who tried to disrupt the proceedings.

A man in military uniform was also seen helping lead the unidentified man away from the ceremony outside Old City Hall.

Toronto police say a 58-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were taken into custody in two separate incidents.

Witnesses said the people began shouting around the time Mayor Rob Ford was speaking.

Both were charged with disorderly conduct in a public place.

The man has also been charged with public intoxication.
