A man has been charged with dangerous driving after his car rolled onto its roof Wednesday morning but police say he could face more charges.
The female passenger of the car was injured when the vehicle flipped over near the intersection  of Jane Street and Courage Avenue shortly after 10 a.m.
The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
But the male driver of the car is also being investigated in connection with a hit-and-run that happened moments before his own vehicle crashed.
Witnesses told police they saw a black Acura collide with an SUV at Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue.
The Acura left the roadway, forcing pedestrians to scatter, before turning around and heading north at a high rate of speed, police told CP24.
The Acura was then seen going through a red light before it crashed into a pedestrian median at Courage Avenue. The car burst into flames after it was toppled onto its roof.
A TTC driver who happened to come upon the scene was able to put the fire out.
Police say more charges are pending.
