Suspect sought after man kidnapped, tortured

Police released this photo of Cardinell Junior Senior, 32, who is wanted in a kidnapping that occurred Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
Toronto police have arrested one person and are seeking a second after a man was kidnapped on his way to a hockey game and tortured earlier this month.
Police said the victim was held against his will at an undisclosed location, where he was beaten and tortured for a number of hours.
When he left home, the man told his family he was going to a hockey game, police said.
At one point, the victim's family was contacted by the suspects, who demanded a ransom of $500,000.
Family members were contacted a second time overnight Dec. 2, and they negotiated a price for the abducted man's release.
Relatives then contacted police, who covertly directed and controlled the negotiations between the victim's family and the suspects, said Insp. Mike Earl.
On Dec. 3, the family and suspects set up a meeting spot and the exchange was observed by undercover police officers, who arrested a suspect at the scene.
Victim fell off rooftop: police
The victim wasn't present at the location, but he was located near York Mills Road and the Don Valley Parkway after he somehow fell off a rooftop and was found by people in the area.
Police said the man was blindfolded, bound with duct tape and had serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries before he was released and reunited with his family.
Det. John Dunlop said police haven't established a link between the victim and his abductors, so police don't know if it was a random abduction.
There is evidence a firearm was being used as the man was assaulted, Earl said.
Police said Jason William King, 31, has been charged with kidnapping, extortion and forcible confinement, and is in custody.
A second suspect, 32-year-old Cardinell Junior Senior, hasn't been arrested, but a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is charged with kidnapping, extortion and forcible confinement.
Investigators believe Senior is armed and dangerous.
