A teenager is dead after he was taken to hospital following a shooting Monday night in the suburban Toronto neighbourhood of Jane and Finch.
The shooting happened near 40 Turf Grassways at about 10:30 p.m. ET.
Original reports said the teen was 15 years old. Police later said they have information suggesting two possible dates of birth for the victim, one that pegs his age as 18 years old.
There are reports he was shot in the stomach. He was taken to hospital by Toronto Emergency Medical Services without vital signs.
CBC's Trevor Dunn was at the scene on Tuesday morning.
"We believe it happened inside on the third floor of what is a series of low-rise apartment buildings on this small street," he reported.
“Outside, Toronto officers are wrapping yellow police tape around all the exits.
“I’m told they have three people in custody right now, not necessarily suspects," Dunn reported. "They are just being interviewed. I’m told it’s a man, a woman and a younger person.”
